Our "New Generation" of Black Missouri Legislators

Missouri State Senator Elect, Maria Chapelle-Nadal - District 14

Missori State Representative Elect, Clem Smith - District 71
RiverCity Examiner would like to congratulate both of our new, young Missouri state legislators, Senator Maria Chapelle-Nadal and Representative Clem Smith. While RiverCity Examiner does not endorse candidates, my home and business are located in both of their districts and they both have enjoyed my personal support just as Senator Rita Heard-Days did.
I supported them, as I support all of our young brothers and sisters working to make a difference and move us in a direction away from the same old conditions that have plagued us as people. Many of those 'old conditions' will come calling very soon Maria and Clem. If they provided you any support, it wasn't because they believe in you, it was because they want you to continue the choke on our community and benefit them. We ALL know who they are.
Steer clear and keep your focus my young brother and sister.
As you said at your celebration, Maria, "This was about public education and our children." Keep it about that, my friend. We need that focus.
Clem, you said that you know the pains of those who have lost jobs and opportunities having lost a position yourself when the Chrysler plant closed. You went through retraining and landed a position at Boeing. That was powerfully inspirational for us in these times. Stay about the business of helping our community get back to work, just as you were able to.
Most importantly for both of you, don't let the 'old vultures and buzzards' swoop you up. Let their time pass so that we as a community may enjoy a new birth.
Oh, and thank God that the Congressman William Lacy Clay 'spoiler' (in my humble opinion) didn't divide the Black vote on you Clem. Maybe that kind of BS doesn't work in St. Louis County. I don't know, but it didn't this time. I feel as though we saw a system work in the way that it was suppose to.
On a different note
Is it just me, or are the White folks done with Dooley. I remember seeing him for the first time as County Executive, smilin' and such. Pleased and pleasing everyone that he could. That doesn't seem to be serving him so well these days as I look on.
