The Call to "Nothingness"
Among the many disgraces that Brother Shahid conveyed that he had observed during this inaugural year of the RiverCity Examiner, the one that still rates the highest on his list is the "Con job that Reverend Dr. Freddie James Clark, Pastor of the Shalom Church - City of Peace ran on the people of St. Louis." Shahid has said, "If his is the 'City of Peace', it is the only peaceful place in this city and surrounding areas."
Rev. Clark was awarded the "Retroactive Bootlicker of the Year" honor by Anthony Shahid in RCE's Hot Summer Edition. "His term as Bootlicker runs concurrent with the year since his implementing his "Oneness" movement, which was premised on 'Stopping the Violence in our City'," said Shahid (paraphrased).
"Considering that the violence in St. Louis has seen a steady incline since the movement began, Clark's efforts to 'take back the streets' were a clear and undeniable failure," Anthony continues. Shahid made clear that he understands that there are many ways to diminish the violence and that Clark may be doing some things that help in that order. "His self-congratulatory celebrations of 'Nothingness' is not a method that I would consider applicable," Shahid stated. "We need men on the streets saving our young brothers from the perils that await them. What we don't need are rallies and gatherings that create an illusion of something real and in my opinion are dog and pony shows to get some money for a program that doesn't help a damned bit. At least he landed a CDL Certification roll with MoDOT for his Bootlicking cohort, Cedric Clark. Now maybe if we can get the licensees JOBS, it will help. That's always the part of the equation that none of these Bootlickers think about. They got every training program in the book and no jobs."
Where's the 'Oneness?' - May 27, 2010 - Police officer shot at Grand and Natural Bridge. That location was the sight at which 2 young ladies were shot on the very day of Freddie Clark's 'Oneness' march. RCE was told that the 'Oneness group had done some canvassing relating to the shootings of the young ladies, but little more was ever done.
Where's the 'Oneness?' - June 26, 2010 - 23 year old Normane "Bino" Bennett was shot by a police officer near his mother's home.
